Theres a lot of truth in what youre saying, But then too you’ve got to remember that back then like you were saying when Harleys might need a rebuild at 20,000 mi there were a lot more of there owners doing that rebuild on there own then what you’ll find now a days. Don’t get me wrong todays bikes are great the best ever made but then so was the my 93 Springer the first Evo I ever owned , the day I rode that home from the shop I was amazed at how smooth it ran and how great the ride was. It was the same in 66 when the Shovel came out and the same with the Pan before that all the back to 1903. What I was trying to say is that there is a lot satisfaction in knowing every nut and bolt on you’re bike and being able to fix pretty much any thing that might happen almost anywear that a lot of todays riders will never know because of how complicated the bikes are now.
Does that ever bring back memories man that is one sharp looking bike. I don’t know what it looked like before you started but you’ve done an amazing job bringing it back.
JB, You've put together a nice bike yourself so you know the effort required to bring back the old bikes. The TR6 was in bad condition but that is part of the challenge. I have a 1970 T120R and a 1968 T120R to be restored. My first bike wae a 1968 T120R so yes there are alot a memories for me too.
Ya but mine would have been a piece of cake compared to yours plenty of parts around and doing a chopper making custom parts is no problem I could make something the way I wanted them to look, but for you doing a restore getting correct parts must be a real pain.
