Rode my bike to work this morning. Had a couple of deer in the ditches etc. Nothing out of the ordinary until I got about 1 mile from work. I was turning right at a stoplight which was green. A large deisel pickup was turning left into the same lane as me and thought he had the right of way. I chose the right lane and let him have the left lane.
I needed to get over to turn into work So I started to slow down to get left and he slowed down. He kept eyeballin me. I sped up so did he. And still eyeballin me.
I finally slowed down to a complete stop and so did he. Staring me down the whole time. I then zoomed away and made my turn and gave him a good hand signal.
What is wrong with people? I can understand him being upset if I had cut him of or flipped him off during the initial turn, But I had not. While I am not afraid of a fight I no longer look for them so I let it go with a simple 1 finger salute. It usually takes me until 8 or 9 am to become an a**hole but this guy acheived that by 6.
First off - glad you were able to avoid an accident with this moron. Remeber though, he has to go through his whole life being a butt hole - you only had to experience him for 20 seconds. You win.
Yeah thats kind of what I was thinking. Plus the fact that if he did end up getting into a physical altercation he would have found out how the Army trains it's Rangers.
I think that once you hit the age of 21, you should be given a card that let's you kill one person and get away with it. You only get to use it once, then you face the consequences for whatever actions you take in the future. You don't have to display this card anywhere, you keep it in your wallet. Imagine how much nicer this world would be. The moron wouldn't have cut you off, or if he chose to do so and you thought that on that particular day, it was a good time to use your card, you could terminate his existence. He probably would be a lot nicer to everyone, because, hey, you don't know if grandpa used his card yet or not. Why chance it? If everyone THOUGHT that their rude behavior could have grave consequences, maybe they would be nicer. My old team in the army had a motto. "We Kill For Peace". Kind of makes sense.
OK, I promise you guys I will stay out of the sun and let my head cool down a little. [sm=bomb.gif] I think I got a little hot, my mind be doing funny things.
I hate that crap.
Happened to me last week...a DHL truck. It got ugly and I'm not proud of my actions.
Just try to remind myself that I only have to put up with them for a minute, they have a life sentence.
Maybe he was just checking out your bike? After all, he had no reason to be upset with you, you had the right of way.
I find myself more and more, wanting to kick in the doors of some idiots cage, after they've cut me off, or pulled out in front of me. But that won't accomplish anything, so the one fingered salute works well
I remember having this discussion with some friends of mine. Give everyone a moron tag. You are allowed to tag anyone who is being a moron with it. If a person gets three tags he gets eliminated. Sort of cleans up the gene pool. The problem is my wife would probably tag me right away. Then her mother and then I would only have one to go.

Ya know I never thought of that... that idea has potential. At the age of 44 and considering my lack of patience in my younger days, I'd have probably used my card by now [>:]. We need to add to that some way to earn another or possibly swap & trade with your friends... I'll give you my Heritage Classic for a valid "Kill One Person Free Card". I imagine the black market for these things would be too much to manage. They'd probably be more valuable than diamonds or gold and have their own Ticker code on the NYSE... "value of a KOPFC up .82 to $18,462.71".
People think the rules of the road are the same as the rules on the water... larger vessel has the right-of-way.
At first I thought that may have been it. But when I came to a complete stop and he did as well I pretty much knew he was screwin with me. Now if I could just find my KOPFC Card.
