Default looking through windshield

it seems like several other bikes I have ridden, roadking, fatboy, heritage, they always had a windshield that I was looking through, not over. While I dont run a shield until I road trip I do love the protection I get from one on a long trip. I ordered a gt clearview screen with recurve that should be here soon. I will definately be looking though it as it is pretty tall. My question is, Is it bad to have a windshield you look though as opposed to over? I never thought about it till I was cruising in the rain the other day with my normal shield and thought that I might not be able to see through the new shield in the rain...

I look through mine. Not a big deal for me, it is what I like.

Both of mine are just above eye level and I look through them. If it rains, I can straighten my back a bit and look over them if necessary. I prefer looking through the windscreen. My Road King is stock. The Heritage I had cut down about 2 inches.

I have a compact windshield and look over it. I suppose it would depend on if you have a full size or something different.

On both of my bikes I've tried windshields. I looked over both & the buffeting really got to me. I put a higher shield on the Heritage that I look through. Problem solved. But I rarely ride with a shield though except on longer trips.

There is no right or wrong. Whether you look through or over a shield is a personal preference.

"You're not supposed to look through it"? Just a matter of opinion. Had a bike & looked over the windshield. Had a couple & looked through them. I'm looking through mine now, and like it. No big deal in the rain. It's all personal preference. Before I got my EG Classic in May, I had a Yamaha Stratoliner with a nice tall windshield. Liked it, but at night I had the annoying reflection from the guages, and ended up making myself tall & looking over it after dark. Don't have that on my Classic, so I prefer looking through it. Like I say ---- just personal preference.
