My daughter hit a crotchy following a car with the headlight wired into a switch and the headlight turned off. She found out later it was a new thrill for the area idiots to ride without headlights. He survived, but dad had mixed emotions when I saw the deputy carrying a motorcyclist's helmet.
First time he did it while we were going down the road, I asked why. He said they just did it coming to 4 way stops. If they didn't see any other lights, they kept on going. I asked him what if someone was coming to that same 4-way stop, didn't see his lights because they were off and decided to go on through at same time my brother did.
My brother lives in rural SC and that's been something they've done for YEARS while riding in cars.

Yup back in 85 a friend of mine in high school played that game. Except he did it at 2-way stops. One Friday night he lost the game and took his girlfriend with him and left another friend of his with permanent brain damage.

There's no accounting for good sense. He probably won't be around long enough to switch to the right light. I think it's illegal in every single state. Red is for the rear.

A long time ago I had someone rearend a car that had broken down. I was on the expressway when it quit. We pushed it off the shoulder 100 ft and next to a bridge.
I left it there to pick it up the next morning. The police called and said somebody totalled it hitting it in the rear. I told him it was well off the road and I didn't see how that could happen.
