Dyna Super Glide vs. Fat Boy
If you decide to sell your own instead of a trade, I'd seriously consider a used low mileage bike. Let somebody else take that big hit.
As for the softtail not riding as good as a dyna or touring bike- that's personal opinion, and subjective. I've owned at least one of all the 3 model types- dyna, softtail, and touring. Though I personally prefer a Heritage to the Fatboy, they're not that much different, and a Heritage is one of my alltime allaround favorite Harleys, and I have 2 touring bikes right now. A softail doesn't have the air shock suspension of the touring bikes, but the totally different way you ride in it, is, in its own way, more comfortable for some folks.
All that said, seems like we all eventually wind up on a geezer glide.

Just my opinion.
I think things will be more in perspective when I do get the final amout still owed. My original salesman told me not to trade it in and he would assist me selling it outright but now he has moved on to selling big rigs.
I have looked at other models bigger but they aure have a much bigger price tag.
Looks wise, the Fat Boy is hard to beat. But for ride and feel, man, Dynas are great.
If you have your heart set on a fat boy - as far as trade, maybe find a used Fat Boy to trade for?

If you decide on the Fatboy and to sell your Super Glide privately, I maybe interested in buying it from you. I am saving for a Street Glide, but wouldn't mind a detour on a Super Glide along the way.

I said I had a couple touring bikes (anybody want to buy a road king?), and I do, and they both have EFI. But, I also have a carbed softtail, and if I could have only 1 Harley the rest of my life, it'd be a Heritage with a carb, and it wouldn't hurt my feelings if it was an EVO with a springer front end, though mine is an 01 Classic.
An EFI just don't quite hit that traditional Harley lick like a carburetor will, plus a carb is cheaper and easier to work on.
Oh well. Perhaps we got off track.

I saw some show on cable, and Sonny Barger was riding a Road King. Perhaps not a geezer glide, but damn close. ehehhh. Bags, windshield, and the whole 9 yards. Used to be called a garbage wagon.
