thats a shame, i have heard really good stuff about ingonito. I would have used them but they wont go to where i needed the bike dropped off. I have read so many horror stories about uship. it all depends on what shipper you end up with but i dont trust middle men BS. I am using eagle one express no, bike should be picked up soon and I will post my thoughts...im just scared to let anyone near my bikes
My indy is working on an ultraclassic that got "lost" on a boat for over 4 months. All the chrome (and I mean all of it) is pitted and crusted over from the salt water. The insurance company is still trying to weasel out of paying the damages.
I had a bike shipped about 1000 miles recently, and based on ads, website etc I used JC Motors. I won't do it again. They were nice on the phone when I called, but once the payment was made (in advance of course), things changed. Although they got the bike to me within the outside parameters of their predicted time frame, it sat in a warehouse for nearly 2 weeks within that time. They (like most of these shippers) broker deals with various truckers to pick up things and drop them off. I asked them about this in advance, and they told me only very "high end" items share the truck with a bike etc. Bullshit.
They also assured me the bike would be carefully handledm would have a cover on it at all times (and the cover would be given to me as part of the deal) etc. Again, bullshit. When they pulled up to drop the bike, and opened the back, there was a bunch of crap furniture in there with the bike. There was no cover (none in sight and it wasn't mentioned). There was some kind of indescribable crud all over the handlebar and one grip and mirror. Took me an hour and all manner of chemicals to get most of it off (some still didn't come off). The brake fuild reservoir cover was scraped, the bike was filthy (it was spotless when it left, I know because it was in my dad's garage when they picked it up), and the ramp on the back of the truck was not long enough to hold the bike. I nearly fainted as they rolled it back and had half the rear wheel hanging off the back as they lowered it on the ramp.
If you're going to ship a bike, use a company that uses their own trucks and does nothing but ship motorcycles. There's only a handfful of them, and the rest cannot be trusted, imo.

I shipped my bike from L.A. to Chicago and everything ran smooth. I just made sure it was coverd by my insurance. Its just freight to the trucking companies.
I am currently using www.haulbikes.com
to get my bike from Portland OR to Lakeland FL
I dropped it off 8-13, still waitin , maybe next week.
All of the bikes are picked up at dealers and brought back to WI for central distribution.
The factory uses them and they were highly recomended, so I went with them.
$629 coast to coast.
The motor is blown so no real hurry

I used Federal to ship a bike from Tx to Ca. They picked it up within 2 days and had it delivered to me within 10 days, all for $550. No problems. I would use them again. Sorry, no horror stories.
I used Yellow / Roadway back in the spring to get a bike shipped from Cali to NY and it actually went pretty well. Took about a week and the bike arrived in good shape. Still a bit of a hassle and probably will never do it again. I'd say as long as the bike makes it and isn't damaged you made out ok.

When it comes to my Harleys or Corvettes, I will never have someone ship them by any means. I will fly out and ride back as a part of my vacation to enjoy the good ol' USA. Also, That $500-$750 will be well spent on me and my toys.
That way I wouldn't have to deal with those horror stories.
