entering on the onramp after a rain.. ramp was wet more like damp.. all of a sudden i say SH*T and we (wife was on the back) are down.. Im sliding on my back and thinking if i live thru this its gonna leave a mark.. My H/D wallet catches on the pavement and im instantly in the grass. Im looking at the sky and saying fu&K and I jump up looking for my wife! She is standing on the other side of the bike and i ask if she is ok. She just put on her leather and im wearing a now pretty used up tank top.. She says im ok how about you ? I look over my shoulder at my elbow and tell her we have a problem. Well 2 puncture wounds to my elbow to the bone and a bambulance ride and the cop shows at the horsepistol to give me a ticket for failure to maintain control (NO SH*T azzhole).... Then he tells me just show up in court and the magistrate will toss it.. Im there early they toss 15 citations but the magistrate waits 5 more minutes for the cop ! Bastard showed .. I tell the whole story and I emphasize on the cop telling me this would get tossed.. 125 i think it was but no points and the magistrate looked at me like i was trailer park trash when I told him what the cop told me about tossing the ticket.. My wife said I shoulda kept my mouth shut about what the cop told me and I told her ive never lied in my life so why start now? go to court at least get the points dropped . all the give a chit about is the money anyway ....... Oh ya you got off good on the scoot .. over 11k damage on mine but its fixed and rides perfect .............

I rolled up on a downed motorcycle under very similar circumstances. The guy was a bit banged up. He stated that if he had been traveling any slower he would have fallen over, and he was really pissed that his tank was dinged. I ticketed him for road-rage. Not really. I helped him right his bike. It was apparent that excess speed was not an issue. We used some tools from my units trunk to bend his rear brake lever back where it needed to be, got his scoot started, and he went on his way. Yes, I did run him and he came up clear. The only thing my boss said to me about this whole thing was "And you really pay good money to play with those death-traps? I just don't get it!"
I guess it all just depends on the jurisdiction, but I don't know anyone who would stroke a citation for something like this, not even the Barny's who were the hall monitors back in grade school.
Good luck with this.

The cop that cited me also told me his boss required that he issue me a citation ? I really should have got an attorney but still you never win cause the state or local municipality aint gonna pay your attorney fees.. At the time I was still working so it wasnt a big deal.. I took the wife to court with me an they never asked her for her opinion or story.. Michigan=money bottom line.. Id fight the ticket from a points standpoint as they will want to hit you there to help the crooked insurance company's nail you with a surcharge . If you beat the points then its only pay at the window on the way out and all is hush hush.. If you dont show an accident on your record that shows as your fault then your insurance should not go up.. Mine did though but i just changed companys .......

I never had a chance as mine was pretty mucked up ! and as it was that bad off i really needed a police report ...... My insurance agent told me if he hadn't gone on vacation and turned my stuff over to some other people he would have totaled my bike .. Sure it was a total but only cosmetically (spelling) .. Amyway there are many pluses and minuses to a crash on a bike.. If your wallet is deep and money isnt an option then maybe leaving is ok ?

Burying your question in another, very unrelated thread, will probably not get you the best results.

First - use the search function to see if your question has already been answered somewhere.

Second - If you don't find your answer, start a new thread titled something like "Question about removing baffles"... then sit back and watch all the responses come in. A couple of them may even be related to your question. One or two might even answer your question.

I think I'm going to just save myself a lot of time and headaches by taking the defensive driving course. Will be the same amount for gas just to head down to Rockdale to fight the ticket.
Thanks again for all the replies and comments/suggestions.
Mine was making the right turn from 190 onto 36 going South. I went down in the one lane exit curve that has that high square curb that broken into a million pieces. The wrecker driver said people are always losing control right there. It had sprinkled lightly maybe an hour back down the road, but the road appeared to be dry but I might as well have been on ice as I was sliding all over the place.

We both laughed and he said he was not going to write me up so I went on my way. He was a nice guy.

That's how gay troopers hit on ya. He probably thought you were attractive.
