Gads I remember that route well. In '56 through '59 I drove that road many times between Yuma and Flag where I attended college at what was then Arizona State College. Yarnell hill was just one lane each way as was White Spar going into Prescott; Many an accident at White Elephant curve. Always thought I'd like to live in Yarnel. A small town but high enough to be a little cooler than the valley. Some time you might ride around through Skull valley on a road that used to start just before the hill in the valley and come into Prescott the back way. Isn't Granite Dells beautiul too?

THat's one of my Favorite rides although we don't do it often enough. I like to come 93 outa Kingman, gas up in Wickiup, take 97 north toward Bagdad Az. (old stompin grounds) then 96 through Kirkland,Skull Valley, and into Prescott. Lunch along Whiskey Row, back out the way you came in out White Spar, back down the hill, Straight across 93 and pick up state route 72 through Solome, Bouse and into Parker. Back home in Lake Havasu City, just after dark. It's a long day trip 300+ but worth every minute.
