Sure hope they are not moving to China. WTF is this country coming to? When will these damn greedy corps figure out that eventually there won't be anyone here to buy their products? They keep this up there is going to be a revolution. Us little guys are gonna have to show them how worthless their money is. I am all for rewarding hard work, but I am not for the rich using their power to keep the average guy down either.
Perfect example......my wife works for a small auto electronics mfg. that was contacted by a large auto vendor that supplies the large auto makers with parts. My wife's company retooled and contracted to the do the work, because the Chinese company doing it before could no longer meet demand. At the last minute a US auto maker (name withheld), pulled the plug and tried to give the work to a different Chinese company, because they didn't want my wife's American company doing it. Thank God the vendor told them it was her company or nothing.
I'm sure this isnn't gonna be the last American co. to close up with the restrictions, taxes etc. that our so called pres and current fu<kin green, govt. is putting on us.What a joke.
Well, it comes to a point of make a meaningful profit or shut the doors. I'm sure most of us wouldn't stick with a job that just barely paid our rent and utilities and provided nothing else for our leisure time. When the prices of one commodity gets out of hand, the competitors will move in to take up the available market with lower prices. That's capitalism.
Hate to see Rinehart go if it's true, although don't have them right now, have loved them on several different Bikes.. Costly Yes, but you get what you pay for .. When did a Search from what I saw appears that they are doing a Name Change called Rinehart Racing And their Pipes will be labeled as such.. So I assume the EPA or whatever by forcing this Label will make it easy for Leo's to spot is an Aftermarket Pipe...

Sounds like a split from Bub's, I've wondered how long they would outsource to Bubb's,,, hopefully they'll do everything in house and in America,,,, like said a business must make a profit and enough profit to continue to stay in business, it takes a lot of money to make money,, don't believe it start your own you'll soon see,,,, an out of business American company does no one any good.
Some say that you will be ticketed for having pipes other than OEM.Someone says in Europe only stock pipes are or will be allowed. Can anyone confirm?
Not as far as I know. I spend quite a bit of time working in the UK and their aftermarket shops always have supertrapp exhausts, etc. I can't imagine that they'd have the things on the shelves if it was illegal.

Ummm, it's already pretty easy since Rinehart pipes already say RINEHART in big letters on the tip.

I've been looking into the BUB 7 True Duals as well as the Rinehart TD. I heard the rumor that BUB stopped making the Rineharts so I emailed em. Below is the reponse I got on 9-2-09. FWIW

Hello Jeffrey,
The BUB 7 True Duals do have optional sound reducing baffles available. We still manufacture the Rinehart True Duals for your 2008 FL bike. Rinehart Systems are available direct from authorized Drag Specialties Dealers only.
1st and 2nd generation Rinehart baffles do not interchange.
Bub has always made Rineharts. It's one of their pipes that was designed by Mr Rinehart. From what I can tell Bub is now selling all the Bub pipes directly to the public and gave Drag the sole rights to sell the Rinehart line.
