Yep thats me almost exactly. Seems like something else was coming up all the time. Don't think I would have survived if I had bought younger.........don't really know if I'll survive it now but I sure am having a lot of fun.

Hey, I had a Stingray with apes, bananna seat and sissy bar. You reckon that is why I ride a Wide Glide? I must have been very impressionable in my formulative years.

Great stories here. I also stuck as many baseball cards on my stingray as I could back in the sixties. Started out on small Japanese motorcycles. I to was totally fascinated by the Hells Angels. Worked my way up a to BSA 650 and at eighteen got a Panhead bobber that I promptly chopped. I went out and got a harley tattoo on my forearm and lived the motorcycle thug/ hippie lifestyle until responsibility caught up with me in my early twenties Got out of bikes after a bad crash for a number of years but could not stay away.
Had a few different brands but finally got back on a Harley home again. I just chuckle to see that faded Harley tattoo from all those years ago and look at my 08 FXSTC I am
fulfilled

Stingray with apes, banana seat and sissy bar here too. Interesting.

I'm like many of you. Military, travel, family, other hobbies/interests took precedence. They never took the "want" out of the equation, they just ended up being higher on the priority list, until April of this year.

We had two of our deputies shot and killed in the line of duty. After the second funeral while leaving the cemetery six motor officers stopped next to the car. I guess it was the rumbling of the bikes or the "here today, gone tomorrow" deal, or a combination of the two, moved the want of a Harley to the top of the list.

So the rest is history. After a 30+ year layoff I took the class, bought the bike, and am loving life. A 53 year old kid on Harley. Ain't America cool?

Loved to ride the two wheeled motorless bike .
So gotta have 1/motor at 15, making $.75 cents a hr in a grocery store (1964) didn't pay for a 57 chevy and a Harley. So the, 305 super hawk fit right in...
Have had one actually 10 even since then cept with I broke my back at 45 and didn't ride for 11yrs at 56 I got back on the new Heritage and haven't looked back.
love the wind in the face and freedom feeling..

I'm 19 and I'm in love with Harley's. I was a fair supporter of crotch rockets for some time, and I have no idea what I was thinking. The tradition, the style, the old school, I love everything about harley's. I have even dumbed down my social life a little so I can save money quickly for my harley and gear.

So yes, there are teens that are consumed by their desire's to own a harley and no other bike is in their consideration.

A large population of youngsters are consumed literally by the sports bikes.

In my case I've always had the eyes for great work of art. I've fell in love with roadster at the young ages, the Porsche and BMW convertable when I was able to get one I bought me a Boxster S when I was stationed in "San Dog" drove that to every twisting roads I could find, when I found them I was accompanied by motorcycle and they seem to have more fun riding the twisties that I was. So after 22 years of Naval service and 48 I retired sold the Porsche and got my 07 RKC now with 20K it seems like I cannot ride enough to enjoy. Now at 50 years of ages I am glad I waited this long, as mentioned if I was young and did what we did back then when we were young I probably be 10ft. under looking up.
