yep had a few of mine moved unjustly, a trip through france gets moved to general BS section from the touring section, its like big brother sometimes. The forum is well run but sometimes i.e. political avatars, sexy avatars I think is going too far, still the best HD forum out there.
I went and looked at the last couple of pages of that thread and like you say, it didn't look out of line to me.
But in defense of the moderators here, if you'll go to some other sites you'll appreciate this one a bit more. This one's pretty tightly controlled, but maybe that's why it's the best.
This site has many sponsors, and their $$'s help to make this the best Harley forum on the planet. Just like any other media outlet, anything considered too contentious will lead to unhappy sponsors, so I understand some of the thread locking and deleting that happens here. There is a political section that has more leeway if you're really interested in debating these type of topics though.
FWIW, I had been following the other thread and had decided to stay out of it. It seems like whenever I get involved things go south. But, against my better judgement, here's my take...
1%ers can do whatever they like, but when they cross legal lines they are subject to arrest just like you and I. I don't respect them, nor do I fear them, but I'm smart enough to know that, even though I'm usually armed, if I'm vastly outnumbered I'm at a disadvantage and I'm leaving the area. No reason to push my luck. My bike says "cop" all over it, it's not hard to figure out who I am. If they leave me alone, I'll most definately leave them alone (unless I'm working and need to take action of some sort, that's different). The thing that I dislike the most about any of the 1%ers is the "thug" mentality. Strength in numbers is one thing, abusing it by bullying and intimidating the general public is another.
The local LE MC club in my area DOES require that you prospect and that, eventually, you wear a 3 piece patch. For those reasons, I'll probably never join, even though some of my good friends are constantly urging me to do so. I'm nobody's bitch, if I have to prospect you can forget it. And I won't wear a 3 piece patch because I don't want to do ANYTHING that emulates a 1%er.
That said, I respect the right for 1%ers and LEO's to wear 3 piece patches if they choose to do so. And I completely understand why LEO clubs will never ask "permission" from CoC or the dominant club to do so.

If you want to know why it got locked, do not start another thread asking; that be's again' the rules, like 'em or not. Just PM the Admin and ask why it got locked. But I'll hazard a guess - it was quickly turning into a cop-bashing thread. Those tend to get locked.
Allthough I was not the one who locked it, it is a no no to post about locked threads.
The correct procedure is to use the PM feature to contact the one who locked it, or Admin, or another Mod.
Then you may air your grievances privately, in an orderly discussion.
