Does it ever end?
So, now we're a two bike family. From the last post, we ended up buying a 2000 Sporty. Made the mistake of trekking into Boston Harley on Saturday and wouldn't you know that the ba$stards were blowing out the '06's for a lot less than the other nearby dealers. My wife states that a few thousand more than the 2000 we just bought would get her into a new 883 Custom that, incidently, *seemed* to fit her better anyway (which it did - I happen to like the tank on the Customs).
%&*@#%. It's worse than crack. I'd love to be in Marketing meetings at the MOCO to get a view of what they think of us. I'm sure that any stategy or objective for any campaign or product has two important points: 1) How can we dig our claws deeper into our installed base. 2) How can we ensure a constant stream of revenue from our installed base. I'm not complaining at all. In fact, I love the addiction. I just know how we (at work) go through this process and it's the same two principles.
So, now we're a three bike family. Looks like that Sporty Chopper project will happen after all. $@#^. Need a bigger house with a bigger garage/shop now too. Then again, I told my wife we should downsize the house now that the kids are gone and get more toys.
Oh, and we have to do the unspeakable act of trailering the new bike home since I'm not allowed to put the first few miles on it. Apparently, the bike's (now called Buster) going to get a few miles in the driveway on Friday. Fortunately my wife has commited to becoming the queen of the parking lots before she gets out on the road then on to MSF class on the 15th.

I did some electronics work on a bike once that spent the majority of its life in the foyer of a guys home. Even spun around on a rotisserie thing like you see at the bike shows. Complete waste of a custom motorcycle - but impressive furniture for sure. Like people that spend a fortune on grand pianos and never even play them.
You know, you could even decorate it for the Holidays. Forget the tree crap and string some lights on the bike. They'd probably make great bedroom furniture too. Hang clothes off the bars. Use the seat for, um, exercise. Reminds me of how many NordicTrack devices that were sold in the '90's that were ultimately turned into the best clothes hangers.
