Default Cannot find Black Forward Controls

I ride a 2001 Sportster 1200 XLS (Jade Sunglow). It has a lot of black (mostly matte, some gloss) all over it and very little chrome outside of the engine, suspension, and sissy bar brackets. I want to add forward controls as I'm about 6' tall and the mids are just not that comfortable. The bike is already fitted with highway bar and pegs, all of my pegs and support brackets are black. I want to add forward controls but cannot find any in black to fit a 2001 XLS. Everything I have found on the web and HD book are chorme or polished, I can only find black for 04 and later models. Does anyone know where I can find black forward controls for my 2001 XLS, or will I have to go custom? Anyway a 04+ setup can be modified for an 01? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks for the advice, I was figuring I may have to get something customized. About how much $$ for powder coating the gear? Do you know if there is a cost difference between gloss black vs. matte/flat black?

Powdercoating's cheap. I think I paid $30 to get my bars done.

Have you looked in the J&P catalog? Don't have one handy right now. My son bought black forward controls from them for his 1987 FXR. Not sure if they have them for a Sportster. I think they are the house brand - Milwaukee Twin?
