If it were me, I'd fill it up, pour about 5 ounces of fuel injector cleaner in the tank and ride it for an hour or so and see if that helps. Could just be gunked up.
My bike did that a little bit, turned out to be a busted spark plug. The post was busted under the ceramic, the plug looked fine. The indy here said he couldn't find out what the problem was, didn't charge me anything and told me to take it to the dealer. He had cleaned the plugs and had done everything you would normally do, plug wires, coil, power control module, etc. I replaced the plugs before I left his shop and it ran perfect.
Are u getting any codes or have u checked for any on the speedo...???
Other than that, it bout time for new plug wires anyway. check battery connections clean and retighten.
Check Plugs or relpace if over 10k on them, and as said above some cleaner, I like Lucas, in the tank,
How about the fuel filter in the tank, have U changed it lately also make sure air filter is not bad, they dont last foreever...??????
Could also be ign switch shorting or going bad.
