Why don't you go rent the WG one weekend and the night train the next to make a good decision for YOU. I am 6-2 and the forward controls were a must for me. If you look at the cost of putting the forward controls and the night train you could possibly be in to WG price range. The six speed tranny is unfortunately not an overdrive unit but around town it gives you that extra gear to play with.

I really like the look of the Glide, but I REALLY love the blacked out look and stance of the Night Train (Softails have always been my favourite Harley models). So I bought the Train, and added a few items that have given it a Wide Glide look. I call it my Wide Night Glide Train, hehehe...

Cheers!

If you work it out with the dealer up front, you should be able to pay for one weekend rental and ride both bikes over the weekend.

I say go with the WG. Those drags bars are really nice and they look really cool but they are SOOOOOOO uncomfortable after about an hour on the road. I had a 99 Train and loved it until I rode my friends WG. Then I came to my senses and bought an 06 bagger...

I would never buy another Train...

Between the two I love the Softail = Night Train.

Mac there aint enough room for you on a train bud.
Even a Fat Boy or Heritage would be a bit small. The softtail looks great sitting in the parking lot but with your size frame, you wont even see the bike with you on it.You will be cramped.I wanted that Night train BAD myself. Then I rode the Fatboy once I realized I just didnt fit on the Train.I almost bought it till I noticed the top of the tank was about up to my shin when riding.
The wife said I looked like a monkey fu^(^ in a football so I got the Glide.
I have plenty of room to stretch out on and it fits to a t.

Might as well just get a bagger now and get it over with. Why prolong the agony?
ROFL. Sounds about right.

Anyway, I'm thinking that if you're looking for upgrades, then the NT is the way to go. If not, then it's all about the WG. If it were me, it'd be a NT with apes.
