Tough call. Most that have either love them. The B motor is smoother at stops (vibration-wise), but not an issue at highway speeds. Maybe take a ride on both and see what trips yer trigger.
I have not ridden either a Dyna or a Softail. However, my riding partners both have Softails. Both of their wifes complain about the stiff ride. One of them had a Dyna and traded it on a Deluxe. His wife liked the Deluxe ride better. The other guy is looking for a touring bike for the same reason. Please understand I'm not dissing softails, just sharing the experiences of two people I ride with.
So, my suggestion is to ride both, being particularly attentive to the ride quality, especially if you go two up. Then, balance all of the other factors, including price, styling and whatever makes your heart race before you make your decision.
can't go wrong with an 06 dyna. Great bikes. Maybe 07 will show the same improvments throughout the rest of the Harley line. The 6 speed and new primary gearing rocks!
I'm thinking about trading my Sporty in on a Wide Glide, or a Softail, maybe a Duce. I like both bikes. What do you guys think?
Why? You've obviously put a lot of time and money into the Sporty and it looks awesome. What do you need a Dyna or Softail for? Just wanting to go bigger? If it were me, I'd keep the Sporty and save the money...or put some more money into the Sporty. But that's just me.
