#1 will be the purest Harley experience. I'm partial to XL1200s for this kind of riding.
#2 will just be fun--an old bike that has plenty of life and zip, not heavy, but one you can ride the snot out of and tear some schitt up.
#3 in many ways, dirtbikes are the purest form of riding. superlight, very responsive, great for practicing fundamentals. actually ride that thing in the dirt and you will feel like a little kid again.......and it will teach you a thing or two, as well
It happens! Happened to me several times. I've been riding a bike of one form or another for 35 years. Whenever I loose the spark I lay off for a while. It's always come back for me so far. Everyones different though.
It could just be the approaching winter months? Or you may need a different type of bike?
Either way I'd wait until spring to see if your attitude changes before you do anything. The bike isn't worth now, what it will be then, anyways.
Just need a different ride or someone new to ride with. I never lost it, but I always have a great feeling after even the shortest of rides. And i've been riding for over 30 years.
Good luck and keep the faith.
I started riding in the 60's and became very hard core about the lifestyle when I got out of the service in '76. I slowed down a little, and became a citizen when I married my current wife in the late 80's. Then I wrecked the panhead and it was a couple of years before I could ride and in a moment of weakness, I promised my wife I would wait till my youngest was in college before I bought another bike. That break lasted a little over ten years!
Now I ride as much as I did when I was a 1/2 my current age! I am glad for all the things I did when I was on my 'break', but I now plan to ride till I die and screw anyone who tells me different!
Man I miss my younger dirt bike days. Seems like I never got tired of it, and I rode the same woods trails over and over. Just can't do the things at 50ish I did then at 25 and younger. Age is a cruel thing. Youth is really wasted on the young.
