Default Longer gear shift lever ...

I had a heck of a time today with new cycle boots and shifting my '10 883 Low ... boot gets wedged in between rest peg and shifter paddle. I removed the shift lever and turned it once on the keys and that's helped ... but I think my darn feet are big and with a boot its just too big. Anyone know of an after-market or HD replacement lever that would give me ... say and inch more extension forward?

Thanks ...

PS: I see know the benefit of the lever that has forward and rear paddles ... wish I would have had more experience ... oh well ... will definately be on the bigger bike when I get it.

In the time being, you can loosen/remove the bolt on the shift lever and move the lever up one spline at a time till your boot fits under the lever. After the adjustment insert bolt and tighten it down.

It's ashame dealers won't fit adjust the bikes when new owners take delivery. Wouldn't that be great customer service?

I belive that's what he meant by "...I removed the shift lever and turned it once on the keys and that's helped..."
