J&S here, met the brothers who make them a few years ago...blue collar welders to the bone. Can't say much about the other brands but I love my J & S. Here's a photo of my last bike on the jack with me on the bike. That's about 1000 pounds with no straps of any kind, and my girlfriend rolled me around while I was on it.

Ok, ok, can't help myself, J&S , haven't even seen a pit bull, heard they are good too, I REALLY like the J&S, i use it on the Heritage as well as the RK/custom. Try this, if it won't ''seem'' to go under your softail, open the jack valve, and step on the main lift frame, it just might go down another 1/2'', i know mine does.

J&S here. The wife and I have both sat on the bike while it was at the highest setting. Very stable.

The pitbull lifts 24 or 25 inches while the J&S is 18 inches
The base of the pitbull is longer. More $$$ also.

2 very high quality products...

Pitbull user here, you get what you pay for....that's why J & S and Pitbull's are the leaders in "quality" and "safe" bike lifting. It's money well spent.

That pretty much sums it up. It's certainly not a deal breaker but it could be improved on. Overall I am very happy with the jack.

I have the JandS Dyna Model.

Excellent piece of equipment and money well spent.

Went to use it last week and there was a big puddle of hydraulic fluid on the floor.

Pulled out my receipt for the phone number and the date was a year ago to the day.

called and spoke with Cheryl (if I remember correctly)
the only question she asked was for my address
and a new bottle jack was on my porch 3 days later

The pedaling slop bothered me from day one,

so I added a guide to control the left to right slop when pedaling.

Also welded a T handle for the release valve handle.

.
.
Also, built a new pedal, shorter length,
which shortens the stroke, requiring a lot less pedaling.

Footpad is also larger.
