My Grandfather use to ride up to my dad's house on his 54' panhead. My Grandfather's brother was killed riding his Shovelhead
My Dad had at least 6 HD's when I was a kid
My first bike was a 1000 XLCH
My second was a FXRS
My third was a Springer
Then came the Ultra -and there it went-

I'm pretty sure I have earned the right to blast HD regardless of how many post I've contributed (but thanks for right clicking on my profile to see all the post I've made)

HD use to be something, mean something and stand for something. Now it's caught up in max profits and that means "made in china". We've all seen it when you get a replacement part for a new bike or look at where a bolt on part was made -you see it and you can't deny it- it says MADE IN CHINA and the guy who started this thread was talking about just that. You can talk about how great HD are, but at the end of the day, its just another product manufactured of parts that a Chinese factory worker has crafted and not some American with a wife and two children he has to provide for.

I don't know why you think I would care to see what your other posts were. I don't and won't. So, you're saying that my bike's parts were all made in China? Prove it. I still think you should buy a Honda and go to one of their forums.

Not all parts. Some though.

You're typing your reply on a foreign computer, which is traveling on networks comprised mostly of foreign components to HDforum servers which are foreign made and likely support by offshore companies.

Chances are high that your service provider is offshore too, at least for support and programming.

Face it. We are a global economy. For the most part, Americans created it.

Back on pg 1 Big Sea Daddy said
We got out of the depression by manufacturing goods. We manufacture very little in the US anymore so if things get bad again.....
.................................................. .................................................. ......................

That's are big problem now. How do we get the US economy strong again when most of the Manufacturing isn't here any more. The current government looks like they think they can just Tax and Spend there way out. Most people have the commonsense to know that's not going to help in the long run... So what do we do?
As for Harley, there in the same boat as the other US Manufactures.

it's simple in order for capitalism to work there needs to be a very low class to exploit. in the history of the US americans use to be willing to do this work, there used to be a very large working class poor that existed. but now people can collect welfare and make more doing nothing than making jackets for less than minimum wage and no benefits.

so now we exploit thailand, india, africans, mexicans etc... instead of our own countrymen to make our goods.

americans are not going to take the pay cut in order for it to be profitable to make t-shirts, shoes, widgets, leather jackets etc... so we pay thai kids 5 cents an hour to make our shoes that we buy for $145 from **** and ask no questions...
