A guy I was forbidden to see in school had a bike. I used to skip class and he'd come pick me up before I had to be at my Guardian's office. It was a sportbike but I was hooked from there. Waited until last summer to buy my own. Thought I needed a man to ok it.... got over that real quick. Bought a race bike and a dirtbike rode them both and then bought my Harley! Haven't looked back since

My dad and all his friends rode and raced dirt bikes so I grew up around motorcycles, he taught me to ride when I was 10 and I've been at it ever since

My cousin had a dirt bike we both use to ride. Saved up my money till I could buy my first one, a 1972 DT250. Only seemed natural to buy my first street bike when I turned 18 and got out of the house. $1200 for a used 1981 Yamaha XV920RH

Best friend across the street's Dad had one. Never saw it run (but I got to sit on it). One day the bike is gone and he tells me his pop split for Florida on it. Remember thinking (even at age 6 or whatever) "that guy is a real badass to go that far on a motorcycle"! Don't know why but I'd wanted one ever since.

parents wouldn't let me get one growing up combined with the "ooooo shiny" luster of a motorcycle. None of my friends rode, no one in my family rides. So I guess it's always been something I wanted to do on my own. Glad I did.
