I've noticed that too, top of jeans almost comes over the top of the Abiline boots I wear when riding. So I started buying jeans in a 34" length instead of 32". Problem solved.
BTW, another +1 on Wrangler jeans. I wore only Levis 501's for years until I lost some weight and had to go buy new jeans. $45.00/pair for new 501's at Bealls? Ummm, no. Went to Wal-Mart and bought Wranglers for $15.00/pair instead. Great jeans.
When I ride in cold weather, I use a pair of blousing rubbers like the military uses. Some of you will get a kick out of this one but the blousing rubbers work really well keeping the cold wind from going up your legs. For those that don't think this would look good, I guess you just SOL.

Just buy wrangler jeans, made in America, and get them 2" longer than your normal inseam. You will love em. And they never ride up. Oh, get the wrangler pro rodeo original jeans with the little brown rectangle on the right rear pocket. Most western supplier's have them, or WalMart has them out this way. Try Sheplers.com, I know they have them. Problem solved.
Those would be the Wrangler 13MWZ. They're "cowboy cut," meaning they are meant for riding more than for standing around the bar. Great for riding bikes, too. You can get them pre-washed or rigid. Your local ranch store oughta have 'em.
Yes, get them 2" longer than your dress pants inseam.
Better still, wear them with cowboy boots, as God intended , and you'll never have any problem with wind going up your pants again.
I have the Maltese set. They work but I have'nt used them in a coupla years. I'm looking at them now as they have been clipped to the lampshade 14" in front of my eyes right next to the 'puter.
I also tried the Faarken stirrups. They work good too. They're hangin in the shed.
There's been many times I wish I had either pair with me.

Cowboy boots suck for riding though. With leather soles, you get no grip when you put your feet down. Cowboy boots are good for riding horses and shoveling horse ****. Biker boots work great for riding a bike.
