Personally, I also prefer the look of beach bars, but...

I just put in a set of 'high streetbars' as the company which makes them have them named. These are simply 12" mini apes. Mine also have not been knurled, and they are held in place seemingly very well. I was concerned that if I ever had to slam the brakes in an emergency, would they withstand the force of my weight on them. I still wonder about that, but I can push pretty hard and they still seem to hold well.

Sometime in the future, I may well get a set of beach bars, unless they become so popular they lose their pressent appeal to me. I'm afflicted with some very strange ideals, one of which is as follows...

The quickest way to get me to stop doing anything, is to tell me that everyone else is doing it! (Makes me question why I purchased the mini apes).

I'd normally vote for beach bars, but in my opinion, the whole bike needs to "flow" with beach bars. Your bike doesn't flow with them.....what I mean is the exhaust. Your exhaust is too "aggresive" looking for those bars. Just my opnion, but I think beach bars look better on bikes with true duals.

Tear it down and paint it. And leave the bars alone! Your bars look great. Arn't they comfortable?

Thank you for you comment though. I feel different but good comment. I also want a paint color like yours. Then maybe black some things out.

Actually only on very short rides. They pull back quite a bit (more than I realized at first) and puts your back in an annoying position. I have the bars already leaning forward a bit and too much more would look goofy. That is why the beach bars interest me a bit due to their comfort.

I think everyone is different when it comes to beach bars. I loved the look on my Road King, but took them off after season one with them on. I use my bike to ride state to state ,and some very long riding days. tAt the end of the day my shoulders were very soar due to the beach bars. They were comfortable at first, but after 400 miles, no way for me. I found for longer rides my 15" apes were better suited for ME. But, like I say, everyone is different.

Good feedback!

Do like we used to do in the old days. Get a fence post (hollow kind) and bend them babies where you want them.

I have done that way back also, but when thinking about it on the other bars I had originally I wasn't sure how much stress it would take before the chrome cracked...

Funny how age will change the way we think, eh?
