Default Why I prefer 2 wheels.

Yesterday, because of a threat of freezing rain and snow, I drove my wife's cage to work. I soon realized why I prefer 2 wheels over 4. If there is another cage in front, you can't see whats happening ahead. Riding a MC allows you to position your self in the lane for maximum visibility ahead. In the fast lane (everybody traveling 30k under), I couldn't see far enough ahead to tell if the right lane was any better. With all the traffic surrounding me I felt trapped and vulnerable. At work I drive a 5 tone truck. I sit high enough to see ahead of the cages in front of me. In a cage, with the heat on, I feel like a Lemming following the rest off a cliff. Maybe I'm crazy, I just don't feel safe trapped in side a cage. I just can't see my self using a cage more than I really have to.

I commute 50 miles each way, 5 days a week. Fuel costs would kill me.

That would get awfully expensive with a pick up or even a car. I hate driving/ riding in cars cause I feel so low to the ground and vulnerable... I do drive a pick up though when the bike is parked.

I too have driven pickups for years. However one summer back in the early '90s, after getting the crops all planted, I rode a motorcycle around, day after day for months, to check on all of the irrigation systems. I didn't get in a car or pickup for so long that I almost forgot how do drive one. When I finally did return to the four wheeler, I actually felt like I was locked in a "cage".
