I'm assuming he did not have theft insurance, in the video he has the "Pink Slip" sounds like it was his loss now it's his gain.

I would bet the guy who was trying to inspect the bike was a new owner and did not know it was stolen and is now out of the money he spent buying the bike.

Doesn't mention Insurance, sounds like he wasn't insured and had the bike ripped off, so he would be celebrating Xmas early.

That's really cool if he does get to keep the bike and insurance isn't an issue.

Not sure about bikes but I once bought a car that turned out to be stolen. I had put full coverage insurance on it and the insurance company paid the money i had paid for the car. it was covered under the comp portion. Only way I knew it was covered was when i called to cancel the insurance after only a week the agent asked why i was cancelling so soon. When I told him he called me back about an hour later and said I was covered.

That's weird, most companies won't finance without full coverage!

I bought a 1970 Camaro RS from a guy who had it stolen out of his driveway 8 years eariler. He was admiring one in a grocery store parking lot when the owner of the car came out and started talking to him about the car. So the guy I bought it from tells the guy he had a Camaro like it years ago that was stolen from him, so the owner says want to sit in it and opens the door and he sees the house carpeting him and his dad put in it 10 years ago. He says nothing, tells him what a nice car he has. The guy leaves in the Camaro so he follows him (without him knowing) gets the address and goes to the police and has them check the car out. Long story short he gets the car back, the previous guy has no idea he owned a stolen car and lost out on what he paid and a new set of Craiger SST's too.

We had a call a couple months ago. Guy from Ohio drove all the way over here (near the IL state line in Indiana) to check out a car he saw in the Auto Trader mag. He came to the house, looked over the car and called the police. When cops show up he informs us it is his car, it was stolen like 7 or 8 years ago in Ohio. We ran into so many problems because apparently Ohio files are purged after X amount of years if the department that entered the stolen item/auto doesn't go back and validate it. After hours of searching and calling various agencies in Ohio the car was towed for safe keeping until detectives could sort it all out and verify if it was his car. I'm pretty sure it is his car, since he had original paperwork for the vehicle, VIN and all.
