Default better shift

Saturday I changed all the fluids on my EG and did all the 1000 mile service myself. it took about 6 hours, mainly because I took my time so as not to mess anything up. All went well and I felt good about cheating the dealer out of the $375.00. I get up Sun. morn. and head to Beaumont from Houston taking Hwy. 90 'cause there's less traffic and decent scenery. My wife follows in her truck carrying the tools and extra fluids just in case and we head to her Mom's to pick up my son. After visiting with the Monster-in-law as long as I can stand my son climbs on back and we head home. Round trip was about 210 miles. Bike shifted better, seemed to run smoother and I got 166.5 miles on 4 gallons. I'm wondering how the mileage stacks up. Any responses appreciated.

Sounds like your milage is good. I'm getting about 120 mi on 4 gals but I have a heavy hand and mikuni carb that's running a little rich right now.

I'm usually in the 43-45 MPG range. I have got in the high 40s during some longer highway trips.

Road Trips with a more steady hand I get about 40-42 mpg.

At a little over 1000 miles the engine and drive are still breaking in. Give it another 2000 miles then calclate.
