I have had a subscription to AI for years. What I like is that they show the bikes being ridden by the owners in 99% of the articles (not just a bunch of museum customs) and there is always good tech info. I pick up American Bagger at the store, they have great install articles, but never test what they install other than dyno sheets (that bugs me). I have a few Hot Baggers as well, but they put metric stuff in there, so it doesn't do much for me.
After a few years of ai, it all looks the same. The only difference is more and more advertisement. If you think I'm being picky, take any month and measure how much is advertisement vs how much is usable tech stuff. You can get free info for anything listed in their advertisements, so why pay for it?. Plus it's the same every month.,,
I got a subscription for Christmas last year. At first I enjoyed it and read every article. After awhile I noticed that every story was heavily edited to sound exactly alike no matter who the supposed author was. Just a sting of the same phrases over and over.
Frankly it is a pretty good advertorial for manufactures and builders. But there isn't much of interest to read that you can't get in the list of parts at the end of the article. Most of the bike mags are like that. No human interest at all anywhere. They are only about selling advertising period.
Do you have a link? Tried doing a search, using Bing, but didn't come up with any discounts. I did see the one at magazines.com but the rate of $24.95 for 12 issues is the same as going direct to American Iron Magazine.

Here's a writeup I did on the process before Xmas. Not sure if the $5 off coupon still works, but just checked the Bing process and it still shows 50% off.
I have subscribed to AIM for years. I also get Hot Bike & Hot Bike Baggers. I like them all. If I could only get one it would be American Iron Magazine.
My GF got me a subscription to American Iron a couple of years ago and continues to renew it for me. Best bike magazine I have read. In fact, February issue was in the mail today.
