I say this with respect, the concussion grenades / flash bangs are standard procedure for almost all entry teams in the United States if weapons are believed to be present. The U/C alleges that he was held at gunpoint, hence weapons are believed to be present.
Bonds for Lester and Foster are set at $3 million each.
I'll ride the sidelines on this one, and continue to observe. There HAS to be more to this. That is HIGH bail. I've put career criminals in many times, and I have never seen 3 million bail... not even on Homicides. Not too much info flowing out of that county yet. The news says more warrants to be served.
Not quite...They have been empowered to respond one threat level above that they are facing. You have a knife they can have a gun. They do pull their service weapon anytime they want to without repercussion so they do.
Not sure where you're getting your information but it's wrong. You may be referring to the common "Use of Force Continuum" found in many police policy books. While still around, there is a trend nationwide to do away with it altogether because too many cops are killed/injured worrying about what level they are facing and what level would be an appropriate response. Find that "one level up" language in any law governing use of force by police and post it here. Lethal force by police can be summed up as "the reasonable force necessary to make the arrest". Defining "reasonable" is the tough part. If you're twice my size and you square off to fight me, well, it ain't gonna happen...I'll use whatever force I think is reasonable, given the totality of the circumstances, to effect your arrest safely.
It's RARELY black and white and there is almost always someone who will second guess your decision.
You guys crack me up. Here's an organization that is KNOWN for illegal activity, actually CALLS themselves Outlaws, held a guy at gunpoint to steal from him, were observed taking part in illegal activity and STILL the cops are the bad guys here.
And Stroh is right on. Ive been on many a raid and I woulda flashbanged every room in that place.
C'mon JW, you're not serious? (I assume you're not, based on the cute little smiley thingy) First, the police wouldn't hold you at gunpoint to remove your shirt, or because you were "acting like a cop". If they held you at gunpoint at all it would be because they had reason to believe that you were an imminent threat. More importantly though, the police have been granted authority (by their respective governing body) to hold you at gunpoint LEGALLY. Police and Outlaws are NOT equals in this case.
To say they all have criminal records.......come on. Speeding is criminal? I guess they were attempting to distributel carrot sticks and celery to the public. What a crock!
The undercover dude found out a lot of stuff, the article said.
For those against the flashbang,..... can you tell us what YOUR approach would be to take over an Outlaw MC Clubhouse? (Besides sending all the other guys in first before you entered). Those guys have a reputation. No one wants to get shot upon entering the place.

No, I'm not a cop. Just a realist.
I guess ringing the door bell was out of the question in your book?
It appeared obvious that a disgruntled club member became an informant rather than a real policeman from that department becoming a patch holder in the “biker gang”.
But then I realized that a biker must have posed as a deputy for them to Keystone Cop that bust.
