I was on vacation and saw a brown leather vest, very cool and different. So I bought it and thought that I don't see many if any bikers wearing brown. I try to be different. Anyone else out there wear leathers other than black?
wear it if you like it! Brown leather is really nice. Does it really matter what every one else thinks!
In my 25+ years of riding I've always preferred plain old blue denim to anything else. But I did actually buy a black leather vest last week and am waiting to get my patches sewn on. Both vests do/will have large reflective patches on the back, either HD or HOG logos that make it easier to see or aim for me at night, depending on your point of view.
I have a black and brown vest but rarely wear either. The wife bought them for me. While in New Orleans a few years back I was riding with a fellow that had brown everything, vest, boots, chaps, glves and cap. I guess it looked ok but not for me.
I am not really worried about what others think. I am who I am. I was only curious if others wore something other than black. I have a really nice HD Billings jacket it is brown and I wear it alot in the fall and spring during Cailf's cooler months. Oh well.
All of my leather jackets are brown leather. My chaps are black, as is my vest. If I had the choice, I would probably go with dark brown....it just sems that most motorcycle clothing is stained black....I like both, but prefer dark brown. I rode with a guy on a rally that had custom made brown leather chaps....looked cool, but will go with black if it's cheaper.....got buffalo chaps that are stained black, and I love them! Black Aero-Vest that is only available in black, but kicks a$$ in holding back wind on the face, so basically..............
Do what YOU LIKE..........if others don't like it, they'll get over it! The biker groups aren't worried about the color of the leather.......it's the PATCHES you wear, so just be careful......i.e....no "fake 1%er patches" etc...........
I don't much care for black, it's just boring 'cause everyone has it, and I don't think I look good in it. I have medium to dark brown boots, chaps, jacket, gloves. I have a black & brown vest with fringe & beads. I'm on the lookout for a plain, working brown vest. When I see brown leather gear I scarf it up. Someday, I'll probably work on getting brown leather on my bike even. But for the bike, the black is cool enough for now.
