Probably a dumb question, and been answered a few times. But I dont have a tender anymore, there was a mix up with some boxes and the wife pitched it. Anyway I was wondering should I go and get a new one? Or start it periodically, or will it be ok just sitting in the garage for the winter? Thanks, Fuzz
Get a new one today. I can tell you that tenders make a big difference. My sportster has always been very hard on batteries and with a tender the current battery has lasted a very long time.
Two choices - battery tender or pull the battery and bring it inside. Wouldn't start the bike unless you're goingn to ride - condensation, etc.
Haven't needed a tender since the introduction of jell batteries for bikes. I have a tender on one of my bikes, but it has an acid battery. I check the others every now and then, but they go green immediately. I don't take em out either and they sit in the cold. ymmv
