If someone didnt want him to make money using their pictures then they should not have sent him a picture.
I agree with you.

But there are those that are painting the posters as being a real pain, and I consider that a small price to pay for the free pics he got with very little effort.

Someone commented that he was doing everybody a big favor by making the calender, and may never want to do it again because of the evil posters.

That's the kind of BS that makes people decide to not bother doing things.
Huh? Never want to profit off others pictures again????? What a joke.

Who was doing a favor for whom?

And people sent their pics with very little effort. Click, click, click.

Someone commented that he was doing everybody a big favor by making the calender, and may never want to do it again because of the evil posters.
Nope. I didn't say he was doing everyone a big favor.
He did something very simple. Asked people to send pics.
He explained why - he was going to pic his 12 favorite pics and make a calendar from them.
That's it. Everything in those two simple statements.

In return - he got a bunch of people whining that they didn't get a chance to "win" the "contest" because they didn't know about it. He didn't give them enough time. He even got heat from an HDF admin for not making HDF aware of the "contest" ... even though it was never a contest, there were no winners and no losers. It was simply - I'm making a calendar. If you send me a pic of your bike I may choose it as one of the 12 I use.

Then, he sent out 12 free calendars, even paid the postage on them.

Huh? Never want to profit off others pictures again????? What a joke.
You're right. I'm sure he's rolling in a huge pile of $100 bills as we speak, laughing at all us morons who unwittingly sent him pics of our bikes without realizing it was just an evil plot to make him an internet billionaire.

Who was doing a favor for whom?
Nobody for nobody. A guy wanted to make a calendar with pics of "real Harley's". He asked anyone who was interested in possibly having their bike included to send in a pic. He said he would pic his favorite 12 for the calendar. He said there were some he would have picked but the resolution was too low. He sent out 12 calendars for free and paid the postage.

In the old days, we used to call that "Doing something nice". It's rare for people to do anything nice anymore because doing so often just results in a bunch of people whining and moaning about it.

"No good deed goes unpunished"

The guy has 6 posts, he got you to send him photo's for a contest that HDF never authorized to happen, looks like folks got took for their free sent pics and he's making the bucks, case closed.
