i am a new rider and i bought an xelement dot german 1/2 helmet off the internet. It looks cool (until i put it on) but it looks huge on my head even though it fits me perfect. Does anyone know of a german syle half or any half that is still low profile and dot approved. Like i said i'm new and don't know if all dot helmets are going to be real bulky like that or if there are other helmets with less bulky padding and still dot. None of the bike shops locally have anything like i want as far as style so i will have to order and cant try it on first to see if i like the look. Any help would be appreciated and thanks.

Since the protection a helmet offers does not seem to be of concern to you, since you are wearing a half helmet, just buy a size small and then cut the foam out to fit your head.
If I'm not mistaken, some of the less expensive hhs only use one shell size so they are going to look bigger. Some of the more expensive hhs use several shell sizes so they may look smaller on your head.
If your half helmet makes your head look big you could do something to make your body look bigger. That way your head will look small in comparison. I always thought the Michelin Man's head looked too small for his body.
Take this concept and add to your body mass to get the look you're after.....maybe a fluffy oversized coat? I hope this helps.
Too much man.........

Untrue.....i've had a couple of lids that were smaller...i just sold a RDX on this site that was smaller than my ACC. https://www.hdforums.com/forum/gear-...shell-dot.html ..I bought a ACC helmet because everybody on this site recommended them as smallest around. Which they are not. They do have great customer service though.
Since i tried on a Biltwell i don't even wear my other lids. Hell i have a practically brand new ACC/Headtrip that i've wore for about 15 minutes. And i think its huge. Only reason i keep it is because i need atleast one DOT helmet around.
