I am with the others. Try to demo or rent a few before you buy. IMO the ride is different by quite a bit from the soft tails to the touring bikes.
You might not think that having bags is all that right now but after having them you wont want to be without them. I went from no winshield or bags to full on dresser within 2 years of putting bags on my old bike. They come in handy and you get dependent on them in short order.
