Default cleve. Ohio v-twin school? or advice from career techs?

I am comsidering attending The Power Sports Institute to train to be a v-twin specialist. I have talked to the school and looked at their web page and it looks pretty good. I was wondering if anyone happened to go there or personally know someone that graduated from there and what they thought of it. I tried to find testomonials from past students on the web but no luck, so I thought I'd try here. Also if any current v-twin mechanics would have any advice or some angles for a possible prospect of the trade that would be helpfull. Like good and bad things that I may not consider being a rookie. I do know from past posts on here and searching statistics on the web that techs aren't paid real well, like in Ohio around 40,000 a year for top techs.. Does it slow down much in winter or remain stable? You know the kind of stuff. Well any advice would be appreciated and thanks to all who take the time.

Can't comment on your school, but this thread I started a few months ago brought back a ton of comments good and bad about the trade. My son has decided to go another route not as a direct result of comments in here, but the results did weigh-in the decision.

Can't believe the great amount of responses.....it even came back to life recently!

Well I am not a bike tech (auto) but if you are considering doing this for a living I highly recomend a trade school. It will teach you all the theroy that you need to know that you wouldn't nessecarily learn form backyard wrenching. And with computer control system and diagnostic system coming into vogue on bikes these days a proper education is the best way to go.

i was a service tech from 16-29 years old(13yrs), i loved it for the first 10 years, but when i started getting older and needed money to get by, i just couldnt do it anymore..10 hour days, 50 hour weeks,6 days a week, and the best i ever made was $23k a year.. i got lots of leads on cheap/free bikes and good discounts on parts, could do all my own work... had a good time doing it.. just no money,or life outside of work.. it got to where i didnt even want to ride my bike after i got off work, didnt plate it the last 2 years.i was 1 of only 2 people in the shop that even owned a bike....
