Default Bike Build

I'm looking to build a bike.... nothing fancy, & nothing that needs jumping through hoops at the DMV. Does anyone know of a GOOD website to gather information on assembly & mods? Again, I'm not looking to build a streached out turbo-charges sled. I'd like to start with something that's easy to title.

Thanks for the help!

Dave

My first time was a lot easier than I was told.Get in touch with your DMV, if anything like Maine, they will have a package with all the requires info.Maine needs to see proof of purchase with numbers, for engine, transmission, frame, frontend. Before they will issue you a number the bike has to be a roller.Good Luck

Copied from Answers.com...

How do you get a VIN for a homemade motorcycle or mini chopper?

Answer:
Most state require you to get it inspected and they will give you a plate. It will vary from state to state. Try contacting your state DMV or a local motorcycle shop may be able to provide you with information.
In Pennsylvania, there is a set of forms required to be submitted to the state, MV426B. The bike must be inspected by a inspection mechanic, photos of the bike must be submitted, a list of materials used and their sources will need to be listed, and all paperwork must be sent in.

Start with a "donor" bike. It'll be easy to title and be worth more if you decide to sell it. I recommend something titled BEFORE 1970. Think "basketcase"...
