I know many cops who have answered calls without lights or sirens so they won't let the bad guys know they are on the way. The same holds true for cops on cell phones while driving. Many of the crooks have scanners and take in all the police activity so cell phones give another way of communicating. Maybe you should find out what is going on before making ignorant comments.

Holy crap!! that's awesome!!

I'm sure on the highway there in OKC they were on their mics and the lead was telling them when and where they are turning. Blue angles couldn't do it without communications.

I've ridden with lots of guys over the years. I only know one that I'll ride side by side with. Why him? Because we've ridden thousands of miles with each other, I trust his skills and judgement, and it seems like I instinctively know what he's going to do before he does it. I suspect he feels much the same way about me.

As strange as it may seem, we like side-by-side riding after dark, particularly during deer season. He doesn't like my headlights in his mirrors if riding staggered. Two high beams side by side light up the night ahead of you and increases chances of seeing critters along the road.

I don't think of it as strange....it's just more efficient for the deer to take out both of you at once!

side by side riding is for slow city riding, formations and motorcades. Not for highway speed in traffic.

Kind of like saying those who have never jumped off a cliff on to a pile of jagged rocks don't know what they're missing. I'll bet it's pretty exciting all the way down, right up to the very last moment.

There are a lot of exciting things I am missing - most of them require a fair amount of stupidity as well.

I've ridden for +45 years. Just returned 2 years ago after a 12 year hiatus. I don't recall this issue, ever being discussed as bad or good. We rode how we felt side by side or staggered, side by side with a bud was good, and no helmet law made it better. Manup
