I don't remember which jets I'm running but they could do for another change...again. I'm running a A/N Big Sucker, SE Heads, Dyna 2000 ignition, and Thunderheaders. I feel a larger/better carb will only help. Especially since a cam and higher compression pistons are in the future.

I did everything that could be done (I think) to the stock CV carb on my Roadking. Thunderslide, Thunder jet, had it sent out and the whole inside venturi area polished, the stock slide was re worked and the squared off edges rounded for better airflow (after scrapping the Thunderslide), re-jetted...etc. I finally did what I should have done in the first place and bought the HSR 42 Mikuni, IMHO the Mikuni is 10 times the carb that the CV is. Immediate horsepower increase after bolting it on, jetted perfect right from the box for me. No stumbles or flat spots. They have a phrase for dumping money into a stock CV carb, It's called "throwing good money after bad".

I really can't justify the $600 he wants though.

Nope, it uses the same manifold. When I bought the Mikuni I got the HSR42 EZ kit (they called it) uses the stock cables. Maybe they all use the stock cables now, I bought mine years ago.

Mine's a 2000 and I had to use the stock enrichener cable but they're not very hard to hang. I had to do a little fine tuning to find the "sweet spot" but great throttle response and easy to maintain.

One more question. I need to get a new A/C don't I? Keihin and Mikuni don't have the same mounting pattern do they?
