Just sent you a PM
Florida had/has an import fee. Neighbor getting ready to move to Florida from NY was going to have to pay to bring in his car because is was bought outside of Florida.
So he went to a dealer in FL traded in his old car and bought a new car in FL avoiding the import fee.
Did not make sense to me to spend a dollar to save a dime.
I don't see how a new state can charge you a sales tax you did not just by this car/s. I would think that you would just have to pay to register and plates.
You'll be fine. I also moved here from Mi. If you go out and buy a new vehicle while you reside in Tn. you will have to pay the difference between the taxes that you pay in Mi and The TN. tax rate. If you already own the vehicles you'll just pay title transfer and plates.
