When my 09 Ultra low fuel light comes on I can almost DOUBLE the mileage countdown to empty and still have 1 1/2 litre (roughly about 3/5 US gallon) left.
I thought it was more accurate than that until I checked it closely one day...

I agree it's disappointing to see gauge accuracy so far off with all of the electronic ch1t on the bike overall.
Some day I'll adjust the sender as I did on my '96 FLHT a few years ago....but I will always use the odometer to be sure to be sure...

My guage is fairly accurate but the miles remianing is pretty useless as that is dictated by current riding conditions which constantly change.

I'd have to say ours is pretty accurate.
When the reserve light comes and I stop fairly quick, it always take 4gal, give or take a couple tenths...

mine is remarkably accurate, half a tank is always between 2.9 and 3.1 gallons.

Mine shows slightly lower than is really there. I like it though because the low fuel light goes on long before I NEED gas. I have no problem with that. As Schumacher does, I usually use trip mileage to base fuel stops. Typically have to **** first anyway, LOL

Fuel gauges on a Harley are worthless.

I use the trip meter and back up the fuel gauge on my 09 FXD. I have noticed that when the fuel light comes on and I pull in for gas, I only put in around 3-3.4 gallons. I wonder if it only has to be accurate at two points...full and empty.

You can adjust the float in smaller and smaller increments until the gauge is as accurate as can be... got time?
