I always wait till all the snow melts and it rains a few times to get the salt off the roads. Also it's not even the rust factor, but salt rocks and dust are slick as **** and can make you low side rea easy.
I would wait for a good rain. Just keep the bike washed up and it should be fine. On the busy highways the salt is mostly off except for intersections. Its supposed to rain this weekend. That should help
damage inc you sir are right this salt bs is a reason for Nancys not to ride thier bike when its cold ......... unless one of you nancys are bigger than me

Engraved Rebellion: Inside Bundnerbike's Glam Rock II
I live in NW Illinois and understand the need to get back on the bike after a long sever winter.
Today, my wife and I were returning from the store and saw an Ultra going the other direction in a massive cloud of dust and salt powder from the line of traffic just ahead of him which he had to be breathing. It was in the upper thirties with snow drifts melting across areas of the road.
Myself, I would have waited for the rains predicted for a few days from now to finish melting the snow wind rows and flushing the streets.
But I know the guy just had to go for a ride no matter what.
