It's gonna be 50 degrees here in Maine today. Haven't ridden since the beginning of November. Pull bike out of garage change spark plugs. Started right up but run a little rough then notice puddle of gas forming down by tappet blocks and its dripping heavy out of the air breather. It's a '99 carbed FXD with an AN Big Sucker. It took the filter off and tried to start it and noticed gas just shoots out of this hole at about the 11 o'clock position on the backing plate. Does anyone know if this is normal and if not what what might be wrong?

sounds like you got some crap on the needle valve or the float is sticking a little. take it for a blast should clear up on its own.

When storing th ebike for winter use some stabil in the tank before shutting down. This puts the stabil inside the carb and will prevent gumming. You can take the carb off or just the float bowl and spray it out with carb cleaner. Throw some fuel cleaner in and run it.

Thanks for the replies guys. I was suspecting the float was probably sticking. I have a manual but have never taken the float bowl off, is it fairly easy?
