get a damn projector set up in your garage!!! prop your rear tire off the floor with a jack, put a road cruising video on and ride your bike down the road....errr um I mean wall. this way you can even drink a beer while cruising down the road. plus, this will take your fuel economy back up so you can feel good about how much money you saved!

Winter blend fuels are a major cause. Also it is the cold temps. That is why our epa motors run hot,to be more efficent fuel burners, colder temps, not as a good burn.

This is all making me optimistic about my new Super Glide's gas mileage (not that I was too concerned about it anyway). Its EPA mileage rating (for whatever that's worth) is 35 mpg City and 54 mpg Highway. I'm right at a 1000 miles (all cold weather), and I've been getting a solid 40 mpg in mostly city riding, and on the last 350 miles of almost all mountain highway riding I've gotten 45 mpg (riding at speeds that are marginally low for 6th gear....60-65 mph).

I guess if I was that worried about fuel mileage I shoulda bought a moped or vespa scooter.

They don't break in untill about 15,000 anyway. That's when you get the best performance and fuel mileage.

So ,if you have to burn more fuel to go the same distance in winter, then you had to in the summer, wouldn't there be just as many pollutants in the air, even if the fuel burned cleaner?.,,

Despite the testimony of our in house experts, which we thank sincerely for their well intentioned input, and, of course, we will overlook the conflicting claims all of which are assumed to be correct, my motorcycle defies the laws of physics themselves, apparently, and gets roughly the same mileage in all weather conditions.

Thumbs up Mpg?

Things could be a lot worse than getting a little less mpg when the riding is crappy anyways, my family and myself are healthy at the present, business is down but the bills are gettin paid and spring will be here next week , at least where I live.
