Just used my HOG membership 1xper year towing insurance (Broken Throttle Cable). HOG paid first $100.00 and I had to pay additional $60.00 for 40 mile tow home...no dealer open on Sunday.
Just thinking the only reason I belong to HOG is towing coverage and might be able to find better coverage. Checked my insurance coverage through USAA and don't have towing coverage. Just doing some shopping. Recommendations?? Who do you use??
I have AAA plus with 100 mile towing for $89 a year for any car or bike I or my wife am with. But thought I read the HOG plus was suppose to be unlimited towing. Which HOG package do you have?
I have AAA premium. Free tows for up to 100 miles. I used it 3 times last summer with no hassles (other than the breakdowns) I have coverage for my wife and I as well as my 2 college aged kids. About $225 / year.
Hog towing ins. sucks, so does Progressive 100% useless.
got blasted by a young bitch a while back running a red stop sign.
Both could or would not show up.
*** them both.
AAA for the whole family. Towing is what they do & they're good at it.
Free maps, route planning, discounts are just fluff out an already good program.
I got in serious trouble in Quebec City on a Sunday night, couldn't speak the language, didn't even know where I was. AAA arranged with their Canadian affiliate, CAA?, to pick up the bike & find me a cheap motel across the road from the Harley dealer.
Btw--Premont Harley Davidson replaced a bunch of primary drive parts & had me riding again before noon & at a very reasonable cost.
Road thru shtt & road away happy thanks to AAA & our Canadian neighbors.
Have AAA RVplus and have been very happy with it. Good for 100 miles. Also have coverage through HOG and Progressive Insurance but have never used them.
Try joining the AMA. Includes towing for $39 per year. Lot's of other benefits too. They also lobby and fight for biker's rights. I've never used the towing personally, but I have heard good reports. I let my Hog membership expire as I don't care for all the "Motor Company" propaganda crap.

Your Hog is insured with USAA? My cars and truck are, RV is through Progressive. I thought USAA partners through Progressive for Motorcycles, and Progressive for MC wasn't competitive so I went with SAFCO... I have unlimited towing through USAA, but they're not covering my Bike.
Won't get into a debate about it but tried most all different towing packages, what you get for AAA RV Plus is the best bang for your buck if like me, Have 2 Trucks, 2 Motorcycles, 1 Utility and 1 Camp Trailer .. RV Plus covers them all .. Use them 1 time a year and has paid for itself..
