I always stop to see what I can do. I don't carry a lot of tools, and I'm no mechanic ... but I usually have my cell phone. I know there's not much I can do to diagnose an engine problem, or a short in the electrical system ... but I can make a call, or give a ride, assist with repairs, or whatever else may be needed. I hope if I ever get stuck, someone will do the same for me.

I always stop unless waved on by the people on the side of the road.
Most people will wave you off if all is ok. You can tell within a couple of seconds if they are broken down or not.
Body language goes along way in this department!!

Stopped one time for what I thought was a broken down Ultra Classic with its tour pack lid opened up.Turns out it was a state trooper with a radar gun squatted down behind the tour pack. You shoulda seen the look on his face. I felt like a complete jackass. About a week later I see the same guy a couple miles north from where I had seen him last time as I'm doing bout 80 mph. He just waves as he's holding the radar gun in his other hand. Karma.

Always stop unless waved on. Last summer stopped for a guy pushing his 750 Honda on HWY 2 in Montana. He was out of gas so the wife and I rode back 3 miles and got a gallon for him.

So far I've never failed to stop for a lone bike pulled off on the side of the road.

How the hell can someone not even have the decency to at least say thank you?

You were over kind IMO.....I'd have made you take money from me if you were that generous with your time.

WTF is wrong with people these days?

While he was working on it I was watching all the bikes going by. Some were even waving. I couldn't believe that no one else stopped to help. Shame on them. I'm beginning to think that I'm the only guy left who will offer to help another biker.
Could be that they saw that he already had help.
Could be that they could not offer any help (knowledge or tools).
Ride? They already saw someone standing by him.

I stop when it looks like they need help (so often they wave you on).

But I am tired of these pathetic threads that demand everyone stop regardless of what the situation looks like.

The world owes you nothing.

Some were even waving.
Waving is a bad thing?

Olay, I guess "lock your eyes forward" is better. He he!

Gotta love the internet. Escape from reality.
