just got a jafrum sissy bar bag and after first use it rubbed holes through the leather where a nylon strap crossed the backrest pad. Do the higher end and better quality sissy bar bags use attachment methods that dont do this?
I have a leather harley bag which I haven't had a problem with. I also use a nylon "Harley sac" which attaches to the sissy bar which is great too.
I bought zip-off jafrum saddle bags about a month ago for trips I'm planning this summer. I didn't even install them yet and the zippers are already broke off.
I learned that if you try to save money you end up buying twice.
I was trying to find a picture but had no luck. The nylon bag goes over the whole sissy bar pad and holds all the weight then there is one strap to go around so it don't fly off. So it's not really a problem. I don't have a luggage rack though and it did rub my fender..
Here's a link to one that is similar. Mine is made by the same company but years ago they made harley branded ones. BTW, I put my stuff in zip-lock bags in case it rains. The nylon material soaks up the water and takes days to dry out unless you throw it in the dryer. They do make leather versions though.
