Why do you not want to post the dealer who is offering this tremedous discount? Saving them all for yourself[8D]
I dont want to speak for g money, he was the original poster. I also know who the dealer is and because of some really bad things that happened there, I do not want to support them by posting their name. Knowing several of the other dealers in the Pittsburgh/Western Pa area, I would assume if you went to many of them to match the price at XYZ dealer, most would match them in order to gain a good customer. (if you are a good customer, LOL) In the last few weeks I have visited and asked most of the W. Pa dealers how many 2006's they had left and everyone I talked to, except two, had very few to none. It is quite obvious why the two overstocked dealers still have a warehouse full of inventory. Lets just say neither would be listed in the "Good dealer experience" threads on this forum.
Saturday, a bud an I swung by Cowboy HD (formerly Austin HD) as I was interested in checking out a Deluxe for my wife. I'm pretty sure this scooter will be in her future. Anyway... they had one. It was an '06 white on black (though we prefer the white on blue). Sweet ride.
A few minutes later I walk back over and it's gone! I asked the salesman where it went and he told me he just sold it.
For $18,000 OUT THE DOOR. Tax, title, license and a few "extras". I'm thinking that was a pretty darn good deal.
It had:
Extra chome goodies (here and there)
Fuel injection
Factory security system
Chrome aluminum profile laced wheels
I can only imagine that I bought from one of these two dealers (Western Pa). I did wonder why they had SO MANY 06's left but after some lengthy negotiations I feel I got a good deal at the time. I was fine with the 06 even though the 07's were out and although I didn't get $3000 off I did get $1500 and no setup freight on 7/21/06. I can't say that my experience was any different than I have had in the past when buying a new car or motorcycle, just playing the game. I have no intention of having it serviced by them as I do 95% of my own maintenance.
Had I know about problems (I can only imagine what they were), I doubt I would have bought from them. The problem I had was that my local dealers had no 06's and an 07 SG was several months away.
Here in Cincinnati they arent budging. I went to the dealer off of Tennessee ave. and was told that the '06 prices are not discounted and they are non negotiable. They do however give you a 4 year extended service plan with a purchase of one. They had a boat load of '06's.
The Eastgate store had only a couple of '06 left in stock but nothing I was interested in so I didnt ask about pricing.
