I use plexus on mine. It helps seal the plastic and cleans it up nice. I even use it on my face shields. I don't know if it will help you, as it depends on how deep your scratches are, but it helps prevent therm.

I just got on to search for a thread about this. My windshield got bit by some debris from road gator's yesterday. 3 scratches about 6" long. Glad they hit the windshield and not my face. Hate to have to replace the windshield already, I've only had the bike 3.5 months.

Does anyone make a "flip up" windshield out of Lexan? I've only seen them in acrylic.
thanks

HD has a windshield polish that used to work miracles on the light bar of my patrol car. Those not only get beat up, but heat up as well.

I'm waiting to see how the op's windshield came out.

I'm of the belief that there is no way to get these scratches out.

Go to Autogeeks website and look at the headlight lens care area. This can be applied to plastic motorcycle windshields, how-to's, and products and tools needed.

Not quite. Foggy headlight lenses ain't the same as the factory windshield with a coating on it (that gets ruined when you rub on it).

I have been there fellas. Dream all you want. You can minimize how bad the scratch shows, but it ain't going away until you replace the shield.

The only consolation is that you can buy the plastic and reuse your old hardware. I paid around $140 last time I replaced with stock. I paid a lil more for my clearview recurve, but at least THIS one can be buffed, unlike that flimsy factory one with the stupid coating on it.

Besides, you are supposed to be looking over the shield, not thru it. LOL If you are looking thru it, it's too tall and needs to be cut down.

I just consider my windshields consumable objects...every ding on it was a rock or big ole bug that didn't hit you in the face, and in the case of windshields that fit around the headlight, one less ding or chip in the front of the gas tank. All a dinged up windshield says is....I've been on the road instead of sitting in the garage.

I've used PlastX with varying degrees of success. Right now I have sections of my windshield that looks as though the protective coating was peeled off, leaving square/rectangular looking sections in the right light. Gonna buy new plastic in the next month or so, as this so far won't come clear.
