I bought the FXRG midweight jacket and love it for what it is. However, it is a bit warm for the summer.
I was looking for a good perforated leather that can have armor. I found the HD one, but not a fine of the design with such a large logo.
I love the Fox Creek one, but no armor (I would have to get the Forcefield Body Armor; if you haven't heard of it, check it out at http://www.tprobodyarmour.co.uk/shirt.asp)
Any other suggestions out there? It doesn't have to be leather, although that is preferable.
Check out some of the sportbike stuff. they usually have the best armour and usually you can find something that is all black or damn near close to it so it doesn't look so ricky racer. Joe rocket has some all black and all silver mesh stuff. Don't be afraid to look outside the box!!
I bought the Harley Mesh jacket with the armor in it. I have ridden with it everyday since I bought my bike two weeks ago, even in the 9 straight days of 100degree plus heat, when moving feels real good.
Jeff
I have a fox creek and a first gear mesh I think the "armor" pads really are overated
the fox creek feels safer to me because of the overall thickness and with the vents its not that much warmer
than the mesh IMHO
You can also try out the Harley Switchback jacket...Strips from a light weight jacke to a fully mesh bottom ...and has armor...I love mine.
What she said... I LOVE my switchback.
It is really weird... when you ride it feels like air conditioning blowing on you some times... When stopped for long periods of time it can suck... but overall it is really nice. Not onles does it go from a light weight to a mesh... it also comes with a rain liner.
Wear my Navy flight jacket I got from San Diego Leather...Made in USA....Have wanted a flight jacket since I got to my squadron, but could never get/find one till a couple of years ago. never thought I would use it riding a bike.
