Default TwinCam 96 Oil Usage?
My previous bike was an Evo. I now have the TwinCam 96. Do these brutes use up oil? A buddy with a TwinCam 88 Duece claims his NEVER uses up any oil. I change oil every 3000 miles. Should I expect or be surprised to see any oil being burned? thanks!

Mine has never used a drop in 23000 miles.

Never added any to either my 09 1200C or the 09 FXDC.

Mine does'nt burn any either but Im sure everybodys spits some out the breather.....therefore we all use some......wouldnt you say?

My 08 does not use any oil either.

07 30,000 miles and doesnt use a drop.

Consensus is that mine should NOT use up any oil. This is good to know what to expect. I must say however that my 1340 Evo would use about a quart every 2K miles. No leaks anywhere for over 67K miles on the motor. Another friend of mine reported the same with his 98 Heritage. Did the Evo tend to use oil and not the twincams??

Full oil will blow out the blow by at higher RPM's. You my see a drop or two of oil on the right side chorme coming from the air filter area.

Mine used about a 1/4 of a quart during break in and nothing since then.
