Yes, I had been reading Iron Horse since it first came out and I still have almost all of the issues released. Great resourse of information in those old mags. I still keep up with The Horse as it is now and I go to the events that they put on because they are a freaking blast. As for the difference between the two mags, well it's Apples and Oranges, really. But it is still about the home builder. As for non-Harley Choppers, I really love to see some Chopped out British Steel sleds being featured in the mag and BTW, please tell me where else are your going to see that kind of stuff nowadays? Easyriders... HAHAHA, yeah right! I enjoy the creativity of the home builder no matter what engine they choose to use for their project and there really isn't any other mag out there that promotes that kind of stuff that I know of other than The Horse. The Horse may not be the most perfect Chopper mag out there but I don't know of any other mag that has the focus of the home builder as it's core.
I READ THAT YOU HAVE MOST OF THE ORIGINAL ISSUES OF IRON HORSE. I AM LOOKING FOR THE ISSUE WHICH CONTAINED THE ARTICLE "RUNNING FREE IN NEW JERSEY". IT HAS A PIC OF MY BOYFRIEND WHEN HE WAS IN AMERICAN IRON MC AND HE WAS ABOUT TO HIT SOMEONE HE REFERS TO AS "MANSON". i AM TRYING TO TRACK DOWN WHICH ISSUE IT WAS SO I CAN TRY TO ORDER A CBACK ISSUE DIRECTLY FROM IRON HORSE. HE SAYS HE THINKS IT WAS SUMMER IN EITHER 1990 OR 1991. hARD TO REMEMBER THOSE DAYS HE SAYS! LOL. IF YOU CAN HELP ME I WOULD GREATLY APPRECIATE IT.
I knew Dave & his wife Debra back in the 80's. She was a phenominal singer who used to come in & sit in with my band, or play with her own band at O'Lunneys in NYC about 20 years ago. Had the most beautiful voice you ever heard. I performed with her a number of times, but unfortunately she died of melanoma way to early. My mom used to hear her singing in the subway on her way to work, & stop & talk to her. A pity such a talent was lost way too soon.
IH & Easyriders were the best in their day. Something has been lost over the years. Used to love J.J. Solari & Dave Mann.
